The Highline Trailhead marks the western end of the Uinta Highline Trail. It was meant to be the final stop for Eric Robinson, who set out alone from the eastern end at Chepeta Lake on July 28, 2011. Eric never reached this point, and his disappearance remains a tragic chapter in the trail’s history.
Chepeta Lake Trailhead
On July 28th, 2011, 64-year-old, Eric Robinson, set out alone from the Chepeta Lake Trailhead, northwest of Vernal. His destination: the western end of the Uinta Highline Trail, a demanding 60-mile route that runs east to west along the southern crest of the Uinta Mountains. The trail ends near Kamas, at the Highline Trailhead off Mirror Lake Highway.
