Middle-earth Musings

Whether you're a "Ringer," a Tolkienite, or you believe that courage can overcome evil, this podcast will inspire.  Welcome to Middle-Earth Musings with Larry D. Curtis, an exploration of all things J.R.R. Tolkien.  Like the Dwarves in "The Hobbit", we delve deep to uncover the rich culture of J.R.R. Tolkien and meet the remarkable people who have helped create the film, television, art, literature, games and academia that Professor Tolkien began to inspire over a century ago.

He lead the team of artists who created the costumes, prosthetics, weapons, "bigatures" and weapons for the Peter Jackson film trilogy "The Lord of the Rings."

His crew returned to work on the three movies for "The Hobbit" and also worked on Amazon's first season of "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power." From New Zealand, he spent an hour with Middle-earth Musings to talk Tolkien.

Middle-earth Musings: "LOTR: Rings of Power" Season 1 wrap analysis **SPOILERS**

NOTICE: This episode contains massive spoilers for the LOTR: ROP Amazon series. It assumes anyone listening will have watched all of Season One. Listen accordingly.

Writers Paul Genesse and Robert J. Defendi join host Larry D. Curtis to take a look back at the first season of Amazon's new streaming series "Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power." As well-versed storytellers and Tolkienites the trio offer both specific and broad insights, details you probably didn't notice, clues, successes and shortcoming of the first season.

They also discuss characters, moments, backflips, hopes for the future seasons and the unfortunate toxic fandom that sometimes surrounds the show.
