It was the media's first viewing session of spring ball, which provided a few impressions and takeaways. Utah basketball continues to make moves that speak to a significant commitment to the program. Lastly, Sly Sylvester joined me to talk about the 2008 team reunion over the weekend. 

It was a good week for Utah basketball with the introduction of Alex Jensen as head coach. The program rode the wave of momentum into Friday when they announced the hiring of Raphael Chillious, who is a bonafide stud on the recruiting trail. Utah football is back in action with spring ball underway. Then wrapped this one with a Q&A.

Breaking down what's happened with the Utah basketball program and what could be next. Is Andre Miller the next piece to the puzzle? As well as some thoughts on the Huntsman Center, and Utah football's spring ball. 

An instant reaction to the news that Alex Jensen has accepted the deal to become Utah's newest head coach of the men's basketball program. 

Both Utah women's and men's basketball earned victories on Saturday, with the women's team defeating BYU, 76-73, thanks to a halfcourt heave at the buzzer by Maty Wilke. Just like old times, the men's team earned a 26-point win over Sun Devils. Utah is also going through a coaching search and things seem to be trending the way Utah fans would hope. 

Andrew Crowley, aka RunninHoops, joined me to discuss all things related to Utah's decision to fire Craig Smith, from initial reactions to what led to the decision before transitioning to Alex Jensen's candidacy and what it would mean for Utah Basketball. 

Utah swept the Sunflower State as they sent Kansas State home with a 74-69 loss after they knocked off the Jayhawks 48 hours earlier. Recapping the game, as well as some thoughts on Bill Self's and Jerome Tang's comments on the Jon M. Huntsman Center. 

Spring ball begins soon, and we now know the dates. Utah men's basketball earned a big upset win over the Kansas Jayhawks, 74-67. And the Utah women's basketball squad won their seventh straight game in a heated Big 12 race. 

The Big 12 announced 2025 schedules and Utah football now knows the path they have to navigate to get to the title game next season. How does Utah preserve its culture in the NIL era? Lastly, some thoughts on Utah basketball at the halfway point of the conference schedule.

Cam, Tyson, and Steve recap the Colorado game. The Buffs have things trending in the right direction. Issues center around quarterback play, but that's not an indictment of Isaac Wilson's future. 

Utah defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa returned to recap The Holy War. They dive into the week's preparation heading into the game, how the game played out, the emotions felt during and after the game, and the focus moving forward. 

The fellas recap the game starting with the 4th & 10 "penalty" before discussing Mark Harlan's post-game actions. Then what contributed to the loss beyond the final defensive series. Needless to say, Utah had plenty of opportunities to win this game before that final drive.

A quick recap of the women's and men's basketball wins last night. Then conversations with Utah legends Kenneth Scott and Jason Shelley.

Mitch Harper, the BYU Insider for KSL Sports, and Steve Bartle, the Utah Insider for KSL Sports, recorded a special podcast episode together. The two discussed various rivalry dynamics before diving into the matchup between the two programs this Saturday. 

What happens when a college football-only podcast needs to become a more well-rounded college athletics podcast? It seeks and outsources professional help. That's what Evan Miyakawa provides on this episode of the Utah Blockcast. A national college basketball analyst, Evan provides insights into the Big 12 outlook for the 2024-25 season before diving into the Runnin' Utes. 

The Utah Man, Stevenson Sylvester, joined Steve Bartle on the Blockcast to talk through the current state of the Utah Football program. 

The fellas get together to commiserate in their pain. Utah football is firmly planted in the back of the struggle bus. The offense can't seem to find enough answers and a tough loss to Houston included a quarterback change and post-game commentary worth dissecting. But remember, tough times never last, only tough people last. 

The fellas got together to discuss Andy Ludwig's resignation as offensive coordinator at Utah. They dive into their immediate thoughts and reactions, before hitting on some of the issues that have plagued the offense this season. Given the struggles of the offense this season, the move is not surprising. However, Ludwig should be remembered for more than this and last season. 

Melissa Triebwasser of Frogs Insider Podcast joined the podcast to provide an in-depth look at the Horned Frogs. 

KSL Sports' Steve Bartle and star defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa got back in the booth after a two-week hiatus. A lot of the talk centered on the process of righting the ship, turning the page, refreshing the mindsets, and reigniting the belief in and within this team after the last two weeks. 

On Monday, it was announced that Cam Rising's season has come to an end. This also very well could be the end of his career with Utah. The fellas discuss all things Rising and the unceremonious conclusion to his 2024 season, perhaps even career. That also means Isaac Wilson is the next man up. There are reasons to be optimistic and the three discuss all things in Wilson's transition to QB1. 

After talking through the happenings in one of the greatest weekends of college football for the first ten minutes of the episode, the crew dives into the injury situation with Cam Rising. There's a lot to dissect and hopefully, there are things that alleviate some frustrations around the situation. After roughly fifty minutes of discussion, the three dive into the matchup with Arizona State. 

Breaking down the frustration from Utah's loss to Arizona on Saturday night, including the quarterback injury situation. Where should the blame mostly fall with this loss? Was it defense, QB play, or coaching failures?

Utah Football defensive tackle Keanu Tanuavasa and KSL Sports' Steve Bartle are back at it again this week. The two discuss the impactful play- among other things- of fellow defensive linemen Van Fillinger and Simote Pepa. They address the elephant in the room with Tanuvasa and hit on several other topics as well. 

Its Cam and Steve for this one, Tyson in a corner somewhere sulking after a Raiders loss. The two talk a lot about Utah's quarterback situation with Cam Rising and Isaac Wilson. Starting with the play Rising suffered the injury and the aftermath of the injury (5:45). Wilson owning his play and the need to be ready (19:00). Football is just around the corner, which means the crew is back and ready for another season of Utah football. This season will include a lot "news" for Utah. It's a new conference, which means new opponents, which means new game plans, as well as a number of new players. Utah is one of the top contenders going into the Big 12 Conference, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic. There are also reasons for concern. What individual player is the Blockcast crew most interested in this season? Lastly, the final 20 minutes of the episode is an interview with four-star linebacker commit, Christian Thatcher. 

The group discusses the weekend that was that featured star quarterback Cameron Rising's announcement that he will return for 2024. They hit on the Arizona loss that was. While also hit on what it means that the Colorado game this weekend is also the last Pac-12 game as members of the conference and what it's meant to be in a Power Conference for Utah.

The crew jokes around a little bit before diving into the 35-28 loss to the Washington Huskies. There were some positives from the game and as well as concerns.

The recorded Sunday morning to discuss Utah's emphatic 55-3 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils. They discuss a number of things from the game, they also hit on other topics such as Alex Grinch and when he would be fired (we were beat to the punch by the actual news before hitting publish on the episode), as well as a lot of talk about the Washington Huskies.

The crew wastes no time and gets right into discussing the Oregon-Utah game, specifically what went wrong... so there was a lot to discuss. There is still plenty to play for and plenty of reason to be optimistic with Utah over the final four games. Finally, Brandon Rose, do we see him or not?

The gang get back together to discuss top three halloween candy. The impact of potential redshirts for Cameron Rising & Brant Kuithe. Why does it feel like punting on the season, even though this team is 5-1 and starting to get their act together offensively? Sione Vaki is him. Sione Is Him. SionHE IS HIM. Andrew, Tyson, and Steve get together and provide their assessments of the football team after three weeks of non-conference play. The defense is good and offense needs some work.

The fellas share their BIG TAKEAWAYS and little questions from week two of college football. Then dive into the offensive and defensive performance of the Utes against the Baylor Bears.

During the first 30 minutes of the episode, the gang discuss BIG takeaways from the first weekend of college football. That includes Colorado's win over a lousy TCU team, Pac-12 QB play, and the importance of good defense. Then the foursome hit on all things Florida-Utah, their MVP and takeaways from the offensive and defensive performances.

The guys dish on how incredible Utah Depth Chart Day is, picking a handful of things that stand out about Utah's depth chart. Then they go into talking about the Florida matchup, what it means, and what to look forward to on Thursday.

Andrew, Tyson, Cameron, and Steve give their opinions on the conference overall. What's the vibe around this season after everyone but WSU, OSU, Cal and Stanford dipped. They provide predictions on who they believe could be conference award winners this year, picking a Utah and a non-Utah candidate for most awards. They also go in on random over/under props for Utah this season including Cameron Rising passing yards and sacks among other things.

Still shaking off some of the podcast rust, the guys hit on the quarterback situation at Utah, as well as Sione Vaki making Bruce Feldman's Freak Athlete list, and the offensive line.

After defeating USC, 47-24, in the Pac-12 Championship Game... which you can never say enough times... Utah is headed back to the Rose Bowl game for a January 2nd matchup against a mirror image of themselves.
